Fruit & Vegetable Smuggling

Some advice on children's nutrition suggests that you can 'hide' vegetables when cooking for children who are reluctant to eat them. This isn't ideal as children will not become familiar with fruit and vegetables, and may always treat them as something to be avoided.

However, where children repeatedly refuse to eat any fruit and vegetables, even after repeated presentation, blending them into soups and stews, or otherwise disguising them may be the only way to achieve a balanced diet. We recommend, however, that you continue to serve vegetables so that they are visible on the plate.
